The Goldfish Difference
We knew that we wanted to enroll Quinn in swim lessons early but were a bit overwhelmed by choice and cost when we first began to look. We ended up starting lessons at a local community center when Q was 9 months old. We met lots of amazing friends (for Q as well as Mama and Daddy) and baby girl learned to embrace the water, which was the goal. However, the class size was huge and the water was inevitably way too cold for our little fish, at times even causing her to shiver and cry because she was so cold.
Enter Goldfish Swim School. We were pleasantly surprised by their 90 degree water, welcoming atmosphere, well-trained staff and a swim curriculum that marries play and technique. Last week was Quinn’s first lesson and we are already hooked!
Goldfish Swim School provides swim lessons and water safety instruction to infants and children ages four months to 12 years. Classes are offered by specially trained instructors in a safe, child-friendly and fun environment. Goldfish currently teaches more than 70,000 students per week to swim and be safer in and around the water.
If I am being honest, I am extremely cheap (hence us trying to save money and do lessons through the community center). However, I am already convinced that Goldfish Swim School is worth every penny. From the moment Ryan and Q entered the warm water, the instructors did a wonderful job making her comfortable and at ease. She was smiling and laughing the entire time!
Their facility is both welcoming and well thought out. From the fish tank in the kids play area to the showers and changing rooms, Goldfish is all about convenience for students and their families. Convenience is also the reason that they offer perpetual year-round lessons, allowing you to make lessons work with your schedule.
A New Goldfish in the C(bus)
Goldfish is currently in the process of expanding franchise opportunities throughout North America, with over 80 schools open or in development in more than 23 states and Canada. There are currently two Goldfish Swim School locations in Columbus: Dublin and Westerville. But, as of 2018 there will be a new Lewis Center location as well. It will be located at the intersection of US 23 and Orange Road (About a ½ mile east of US 23 on the south side of Orange Road just before the railroad tracks). This will be 5 minutes from our house and will offer the same great flexibility as other locations- I can’t even handle my excitement!
You can follow all the progress through their Lewis Center Facebook page or on their website. Be sure to check out the new location when it opens and be on the lookout for locations and events near you! Stay tuned for upcoming posts about the benefits of swim lessons and more about Goldfish Swim School.
