Here is our weekend snapshot. It was far from restful but was full of laughter (minimal tears, I’m happy to report), fun, sweet treats and even sweeter memories along the way.
Daddies and Donuts
This weekend was a first for us. Ryan joined Quinn and I for a special Baby Boot Camp Columbus workout: Daddies and Donuts. As it turns out, we will do just about anything for a donut in this family.
Strawberry Picking
Since we were already sweaty after a great workout, we continued to sweat it out as we picked strawberries. We had a blast eating our way through the field with Gigi (my Mom) at Jacquemin Farms. I even reconnected with my baking roots this weekend.

The final product: strawberry cake made from our freshly-picked berries!
Girl’s Night
As a Mama, I have realized that self-care is not just important, it’s essential. I am thankful for a husband that sees it’s value as well. My time with friends is life-giving and challenges me in the best of ways. There is such a value in sitting down face-to-face with friends. I also LOVE that Columbus is such a fun backdrop to do life with my friends and family. Do yourself a favor and go see a flick at Studio 35 and then treat yourself to some local brews at Lineage Brewing. You won’t regret it.
Father’s Day and the Columbus Clippers
We had a blast at Family day at Huntington Park as we cheered on the Clippers (or ate snacks in Quinn’s case, per usual) with great friends! Quinn also discovered the splash pad behind the stadium and was one happy little girl! Baseball is one of Ryan’s favorites sports (but let’s be honest, there aren’t many sports that he doesn’t like!) so it was a joy to watch him share this love with Quinn.

Snapshots of Heaven
This picture is a glimpse of what I am sure heaven will look like. Not just because it reminds me of the amazing way that Ryan loves Quinn (and boy does he love her something fierce) but because I hope to never forget the way that Quinn looks at her Daddy. Lately I have been reminded that the way we feel about this sweet little girl is only a fraction of how God feels about us and for that, I am immeasurably grateful.
This man, my husband, is my rock and my constant source of encouragement. His transition into his role of “Daddy” has been a joy to watch. He always challenges me to go, to do, to dream and to believe. Watching the way that he loves makes me forever thankful that God chose me to get to walk beside him through our crazy life here on Earth. Though full of many joys, these last few years have been full of many hardships as well but his shoulders have proven strong and his heart bigger than I could have ever imagined. Thank you for being with me in the trenches, teaching me to forgive quickly, to laugh often, to breath deeper and to never take life too seriously.
