If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook then you know that we have been busy lately revamping a lot of things around our house. Not only have we been purging, minimizing and organizing but we had our kitchen cabinets, entire downstairs and trim/ doors painted. Needless to say, our house looks SO different and we couldn’t be more thrilled about the change!
Quinn is excited that her kitchennow matches our kitchen’s white cabinets! However I must admit, her kitchen is still arguably cooler than our kitchen will ever be.
I’ve had a lot of people ask where we got her kitchen and some of our favorite play kitchen accessories. So I thought I would give a little rundown of what we are loving:
Play Kitchen Favorites
Kitchen– We bought this KidKraft Kids Kitchen on an auction site before Quinn even turned one. We knew it would likely be a Christmas present for her but snagged it for half of the retail cost! I was nervous that it would be too big and bulky. However, we have LOVED it for so many reasons.
It came complete with a backsplash (we don’t even have a backsplash in our kitchen), sink, phone, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and oven. The best part is that the fridge, oven, microwave and dishwasher all serve as storage for Quinn’s toys and kitchen accessories!
Cookie Set– This Melissa & Doug Cookie Set is a crowd favorite. Quinn loves to “slice” the dough and place the cookies on the baking sheet and into the oven. It comes with the cookie dough roll, an oven mitt and a knife
Stand Mixer– I got Quinn’s Wooden mixer at Aldi after Christmas when it was on clearance. However, there are plenty of similar mixers out there!
Pizza– I found this wooden pizza set at Aldi for a fraction of the cost of the Melissa & Doug Pizza Set. They are both wooden and come with a pizza cuter (pretend of course!). Quinn loves serving up a slice for us!
Farmer’s Market Produce– We first saw this Farmer’s Market Color Sorting Set at our local library and fell in love with it. Not only is it cute and fun but most important it’s amazing for early learning! We are able to work on sorting by color in between all of her imaginative play in her new kitchen!
Wooden Food- This Melissa & Doug Food Groups Set is another great choice for play food. It encourages kids to learn their food groups as they play. Quinn has deemed a few of the fruits and veggies as “balls” and often finds it appropriate to throw them. But have no fear, this wooden set is quite durable and is sure to stand up to any toddler.
The Target Dollar Spot (or “Bullseye’s Playground” now that items are rarely $1.00), calls my name far too often. I have learned to have self control but I couldn’t resist this adorable felt pie and cake stand! Between this and the tea towels that we picked up in the same spot, Quinn’s kitchen looks and feels like home!
This isn’t an exhaustive list but these are many of the things that occupy our time in Quinn’s kitchen! We hope that you enjoy making memories in the kitchen as much as we do!
